Bachelor of Computer Graphic Design (Honours)

The fourth year is a specialised, research based degree that requires students to prepare a postgraduate thesis and develop a body of work based on this research. The programme encourages students to use their talents and creativity to push beyond the boundaries of traditional design.


Four Elective Modules are offered in Year 4, along with :
Thesis Exhibition • Thesis Implementation • Thesis Research • Thesis Writing & Methodology

Entry Requirements:
Successful completion of the Bachelor of Computer Graphic Design degree at Wanganui School of Design or recognised by the Wanganui School of Design, other educational programmes equivalent to the Bachelor of Computer Graphic Design degree, or work related study or experience equivalent to the Bachelor of Computer Graphic Design degree.


Programme Duration: 1 Year full time


Qualification: Bachelor of Computer Graphic Design (Honours) ~ BCGD (Hons)

In addition to a comprehensive résumé, students will be required to submit:

  1. A portfolio of at least 20 pieces of work. All portfolios are required to include a variety of original, developmental and finished work. Work may be submitted as photographs, slides or videotape. Multimedia work may be submitted in digital form on disk.
  2. Essays or written papers that demonstrate the candidate’s ability to communicate and analyse topics of research.
  3. Three letters of recommendation or reference, preferably from colleagues, lecturers or employers.
  4. Official transcripts of past study.
